Sonoma Valley Bank President and Chief Administrative Officer Sean Cutting reported holding company earnings of $1,027,289 for the quarter ending March 31, a gain of 1.1 percent year over year. Earnings per share also increased 2.2 percent year over year.

Safe-Bidco awarded 14 Northern California businesses, including several from the North Bay, with Green Entrepreneur Awards March 26 during its sixth annual awards ceremony.

The Northern California Engineering Contractors Association is accepting applications for 2008 scholarships to full-time students. To be eligible, the applicant must be a high school senior or college student pursuing a career in construction or an employee of ECA or their family members who are pursuing secondary education in any industry.



Sonoma Academy and the Leadership Institute for Ecology and the Economy won an award from the Sonoma County Conservation Council and the Sierra Club Sonoma Group for a program that focuses on the interplay between humans and the environment.

Infineon Raceway in Sonoma increased ticket sales for its Aug. 22 event by about 400 percent after local racer Danica Patrick won an IndyCar Series in Japan.

Government

The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors acting as the Board of Directors of the Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District approved the purchase of the 160-acre Quailbrook Ranch on Sonoma Mountain.

Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa Medical Center will complete a major phone system upgrade May 27, switching all prefixes from 571 to 393.
