Investor-backed Inertia provides Web-based technology to help wineries manage direct sales and marketing. The company was founded by Mr. Mabray, who remains as Inertia's chief strategy officer and board member.
Mr. Jansen was most recently senior vice president of product and retail at Expedia.com, a leading on-line travel service company. Prior to Expedia, he was vice president at Walt Disney Company, overseeing on-line product management and marketing for Walt Disney parks and resorts.
"Ted Jansen is exactly the right leader for Inertia at exactly the right time, said Bob Ackerman, co-founder and managing director of Allegis Capital and a lead investor in Inertia."His track records building large, online marketplaces make him the ideal leader to take the company to the next level."
According to Mr. Mabray, Inertia is experiencing "phenomenal growth in all areas." The company's REthink Engine technology is currently providing an integrated platform to manage all aspects of direct sales to both consumer and the trade for over 600 wine brands.
