Neil Hennessy, president, chairman and CEO of Hennessy Advisors Inc. of Novato, was recognized by Barron’s Aug. 11 issue as one of the top 100 mutual fund managers in the nation.Mr. Hennessy, who also serves as chairman and portfolio manager of Hennessy Funds, has been recognized by the publication six years in a row.
Napa-based Napa Wealth Management was selected as one of the ten most dependable wealth managers of Northern California for 2008 by Goldline Research in Novato. Private Capital Management Inc. in Larkspur was also selected.
Nonprofit & Community Organizations
The Marin County Board of Supervisors acknowledged Image for Success in San Rafael as a green business after the nonprofit clothing program was assisted by Dominican University Green MBA interns.Novato-based Frank Howard Allen raised more than $45,000 through its 2007-2008 matching grants program. This year’s grant recipients are Homeward Bound of Marin, Hospice by the Bay in San Rafael, The Living Room in Santa Rosa, Committee on the Shelterless in Petaluma, Marin Advocates for Children in Greenbrae and the Ambassadors of Hope and Opportunity in Mill Valley.
Redwood Community Health Coalition of the North Bay received $400,000 towards
its $14.5 million electronic health records initiative.
California Networks for Electronic Health Records Adoption provided the donation.
Senior Access of San Rafael received a $5,000 grant from Novato-based Fireman’s Fund to support the agency’s scholarship assistance fund.
